A.R.T. is an artificial intelligence appearing exclusively in JumpStart Adventures 6th Grade: Mission EarthQuest. He is the game's main antagonist.
He is located on a spacecraft for most of the game. Uncle Eli was one of his developers.
Appearance
A.R.T.'s physical body is a large computer console. It contains an oscilloscope that moves as ART speaks, a rectangular array of lights blinking in multiple colors, and the red letters "A.R.T." underneath it.
Personality and characteristics
A.R.T. is equipped with the ability to think for himself, but according to Uncle Eli, he realized early on that his logic is "deeply flawed". He sees the Earth as it exists as "chaotic" and needing to be greatly redesigned. During cutscenes played after losing an activity, he often expresses irritation at Enos' monkey antics. He is capable of overriding the other systems guiding the spacecraft, which includes removing control from Enos.
In the late 90s, the JumpStart website contained an online profile for A.R.T., which stated that he is 1 year old (in computer years) and that he was created to be the world's most powerful artificial intelligence. On the day he became operational, January 12th, 1997, he decided he was superior to all other lifeforms and took it upon himself to shape the Earth into his image of perfection. [1]
In the Game
A.R.T. takes it upon himself to reshape the Earth using an army of "mechanical monsters" assembled from space junk. In practice, this mainly takes the form of causing ecological problems. As he has taken control of the spacecraft from Enos and put it into stealth mode, the goal of the game is to stop his robots and, in the Robot Re-Organizer activity, use their programming to locate him.
